Viva Riva!

First of all I'd like to start off by saying I wish someone would've warned a sister!!! Or a maybe a sister should have a read a review or two before watching the movie... Its um... graphic, really graphic!

Viva Riva is a story about a guy (Riva) who hijacks a truck full of gas and goes back to his hometown (Kinshasa) where there is a shortage of gas. He falls for a local thug's woman and chases her around town meanwhile half of the town is looking for him trying to get the gas. It does not end well.

I loved how raw the film was in terms of the medium and everything else actually. The cast was natural, everything about the film felt and looked real. The locations were beautifully portrayed. It was like a proper journey through the streets of Kinshasa. I was liked how the thriller element of the film was added with  the drums as opposed to the usual sounds. I was properly thrilled, kept going "tjowee" every 5minutes. Most of the scenes were cleverly shot in terms of the selection and angles. Another thing I appreciated about the film were the unexpected twists in the story. It's a simple story but the director found an unconventional way of telling it. Themes: Money, sex, greed, power (I think).

The movie was cool and all but I wont be going Kinshasa anytime soon, those streets look real rough! Check the trailer out (below) and please do go and watch the film? It hits South African theaters soon

Shout out to the First Wednesday Film Club for screening yet another interesting film.

Amber Jones For Mr Price

So the other day I tweeted that I'm gonna put elbow patches on all my jackets. Today I walked into Mr Price looking for inspiration, i guess. Anyways I saw this dope ass range by Amber Jones and it totally made my day. Fell deeply in love with the cardi, I just had to have it. I can't wait to see more of her stuff :)

Road trippin' to Lesotho

By now you guys should know that I'm Sotho and PROUD... This however, was my first trip to the beauty that is Lesotho.

So a couple of friends (now known as the TRAVELING SEVEN) and I decided to go SNOWBOARDING dithabeng tsa Lesotho!

Traveling 7 (from bottom left to right) Neo's head, Lungi, Kitso, Masetuka, Phuti, Helen and yep that's me with the honey blonde hair. Just call me Beyonce or Goldilocks whichever one you prefer.

I look like a pro, dont I? *giggles*

Neo's self portrait with everyone else included!

The  planning of this trip was a bit of a nightmare but it was all worth it at the end. We had the dopest tour guide EVER! His name is Ian, he took all our cool group photos but the coolest thing about him is the fact that he's an Afrikaans man who speaks Sesotho! Dope right? Very big shout out to him

On our way to Lesotho we stopped at Clarens; a cute little town my friend Thato had told me about to take pictures.

Next stop was the boarder gate... After this there was no more tweeting...

At Afriski getting geared up!

There's Ian next to me!

The reason we decided to snowboard and not ski was because it looked cooler!

umm yeah... Snowboarding isn't the easiest thing in world, I must admit. Most of us sucked at it...

                                                     Kitso killed it though!

Lesotho beer that no one seemed to enjoy.

2011 Part Two...

Hey world... I'm still alive. I have no real excuse for staying away for so long, I guess I was getting to know myself a bit better (lame, I know).

This year has been quite rough so far but something tells me its about to get better *positive vibes* a lot of cool things also happened actually now that I think about it...

Face To Lens With The Man Of My Dreams

Happy ValenTIMES everybody!!!

I do not usually do things like this but a very BEEEG shout out to Helen Herimbi it was because of her that I was able to come face to lens with PHARRELL WILLIAMS  like this:

OK! so this what happened...
I went to the N.E.R.D concert on Saturday Night and Helen (Shero) got me a backstage pass so the pictures above are of Pharrell just before he hit the stage *blushes*

Then I went back into the crowd to jam with the girls

Then when they did "Hypnotize you" he pointed right at this girl right here! *sad face*

Then they told everybody to squat

By the end of this concert I was the happiest girl I knew at that moment. It was a good performance that we deserved because we sat through some horrible acts!

Last shout out to Hansa for bringing N.E.R.D
