Area Code (031)

Went to Durban a couple of weeks ago; hadn't been there in over 10years not much has changed since then. The place is pretty and all but its also quite um, dull...

The only thing that I didn't remember from back in the days were these guys making sand art. I like it a lot

Hey look the stadium in the background!

Samantha, Carlo and Mzu (The crew)
 Po-po on the beach

 The cool kids...

This guy was so cool, not cool-cool but chilled out I-live-in-Durban kinda cool. Make sense? Anyways another reason i took the pic was because his sandals reminded me of the ones my dad used to have back in the day

The Drill Hall

A friend of mine invited me to a party that she was organising and this was the Facebook invite for it

This is Eve she's the lead singer of the The Frown. Yes she was wearing a plastic sailor dress with a pink wig!

They are a cool bad, pity we caught the performance towards the end.

After the performance everybody hit the dancefloor, it was like an 80's disco party well from what I've seen on TV
This was a roof party and the view of the city was amazing!

As we were leaving this guy came up to us and gave us flyers for his exhibition that starts tonight at the Drill Hall, I asked if we could see some his stuff because he told us that he was setting up

His name is John, he collects trash and makes art pieces out of it

This is a self portrait, the nose ring gave it away.

That's John again with Lungi, she shared this amazing experience with me.

This guy is seriously talented these are some of his paintings, his stuff is so intense.

This is my favourite sculpture that's why I saved it for last!

Channel O Awards

Lungsta and Thomas were the hosts of the Channelo O awards last night. They got off to a bad start, hectic technical glitch with the first performance and they had to start over. I was at home, on mom's couch having a tweet fest. The awards had an airplane theme; Lungsta was the pilot and Thomas the air hostess. Cool concept but execution was not so great.

I love me some Naeto C! i love, love him with a capital LOVE!

I like Sasha also thought this dress was cute

Sisi Thembi held it down, she was looking good and had good energy on stage even though the sound was crap!

Mocheddah has a banging body, this dress looked dope on her. I'm glad she one an award don't remember what it was for but I'm glad she won or else I wouldn't be shouting her out right now.

Jerri looking fabulous as per usual! I wish Channel O had shown us the people at home the red carpet outfits, it looks like the people there were better dressed than the ones on stage.

Dineo the new O-Access presenter is very pretty i don't like how they dressed her, she's a young new presenter and they dressed her like a former Miss South Africa

The Kwela Tebza brothers were looking stylish

Hey Naeto! *wink*

I like Black Coffee, his songs sound almost the same to me but i like the way they shoot his videos, clean and simple.

Go Buti Pro! He finally won an award *shine*

Runaway

Let's have a toast for the douchebags!

I watched Kanye's Runaway film atleast 10 times this passed weekend... I love, love it! The font at the begining had me thinking that it's going to be another Sin City inspired film like the Young Money "Roger That" video. Boy was I in for a surprise, a pleasant one.

What stood out the most for me was the art direction, I liked the desaturated colour palette the design was not too over the top like most art films it worked well with theme. I also thought the bird costume was fabulous! I like Selita Ebanks don't know how Nick Canon went from her to Mariah I mean really!

I think this would make a great musical play so Kanye if you're reading hook it up on Broadway! The begining of every new scene convinced me of this, I could even see the stage lights the costumes it would all go together perfectly

After watching it all those times I still dont quite know exactly what the film's about; I think its about not trying to fit in and letting go of issues and stuff. I think... So i googled it and this what I got from one of the results:
Check out Kanye West’s film, Runaway, which tells the story of a phoenix (a metaphor for his return to the spotlight).
